The Advanced Queensland Innovation & Investment Summit was held in Brisbane on 27-29 April 2016. Sunshine Coast Council partnered with the Innovation Centre to showcase the region’s entrepreneurial talent and collaborative approach towards innovation.
The Sunshine Coast region is a leading area for innovation and business development through our region’s seven High Value Industries – Knowledge and Professional Services, Food & Agribusiness, Clean Technologies, Aviation & Aerospace, Education & Research, Health & Wellbeing and Tourism, Sport & Leisure.
At the summit, council showcased innovation through its display which included an Interactive Light Wall that responded to twitter posts. The interactive display was created by local creative technologist and award-wining Digital Champion Mic Black.
The light wall was displayed for the first time at the Advance Queensland Summit. More than 20 Sunshine Coast delegates attended the summit and interacted with the light wall.
Sunshine Coast Council encouraged everyone to get involved and tweet @CouncilSCC which industry they believed was most ready for #innovation on the Sunshine Coast. The votes made via twitter from April 27-29 became interactive by lighting up the wall when they were submitted.
The industries that received the most votes as being ready for innovation during the summit were #knowledge #health #cleanteach.
