    Work is nearing completion on a new 1.8m wide concrete pathway link between Westaway Parade and Gothic Parade in Currimundi. This will make it easier to access Currimundi Lake and the existing coastal pathway. The pathway will also provide the community with better connectivity to the popular Graeme Stewart Park via Croydon Street.

    On behalf of the Coolum and district community, I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to all of the emergency services – Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), rural fire brigade volunteers, the police and ambulance officers, and council staff – for all their efforts during the recent bush fire emergency and for continuing to keep the spot fires under control since then.

    Council maintains more than 2200km of roads across the region through its Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program to ensure they are safe for motorists. The 2016/17 program will improve more than 80km across 193 roads, including Peregian Springs Drive.

    I am pleased to announce that the renewal of the playground equipment is now complete at QCWA Park. The new playground looks very much in character with the location and the new equipment will keep the youngsters entertained both physically and mentally. I would like to thank the users of the park for their patience during the replacement process and I hope the refreshed playground brings a lot of joy to the community.
