    This year's Coolum Peregian RSL dawn ceremony was, as usual, extremely well attended by Coolum and district residents. It was obvious at the ceremony that there is a larger representation of young children, either from the local schools or with their families, attending this most solemn of events.

    Construction on the new rowing pontoon at Lake Kawana is now complete and it’s already being well used by our community. A new double-size shelter over the timber deck behind the Green Beginnings childcare centre on Sportsman Parade will also be completed by the end of May.

    Council’s Kids in Action event brings schools together to explore local environmental issues in a fantastic format where the students teach each other. Bli Bli State School will participate for the first time this year. They were also the winner of the early bird registration draw and received an iPad prize that I’m sure will come in useful for various activities.
