Council plans for future growth

I am excited to welcome the release of the draft South East Queensland Regional Plan, which acknowledges council’s extensive planning for population growth. Following strong and consistent advocacy by council, the draft plan identifies Beerwah East in the Urban Footprint, a preferred location for long term growth. The draft plan also provides growth for other Division 1 townships such as Glass House Mountains and Landsborough, recognising their suitability for urban growth given they are located on the North Coast Rail Line transport corridor.  View the draft plan online at

Copies are available for purchase from council’s library branches and Customer Service Centres for just $6.

Spring cleaning

Do you have some large, bulky or awkward items cluttering up your home? Council has launched a new online directory to assist residents to get rid of their unwanted waste quickly and easily while also supporting local businesses. So if you are about to undertake a full spring clean of your home, this might be exactly what you need.  Search ‘Large Household Item Waste Collection Directory’ on council’s website for more information.
