Road reseal program
A number of road works have been underway around Division 3 throughout August, as part of council’s Road Reseal and Rehabilitation program. Thanks for your patience during this recent maintenance work.

Division 3 Kids in Action
Council is hosting the Kids in Action conference again this year, as part of 2014 Target Kids Teaching Kids Week. The local program is an amazing opportunity for students and teachers to share with each other how to protect and enhance the Sunshine Coast environment. Good luck our local students who are participating.

Funding for community groups
Last week council announced 70 not-for-profit community organisations will be granted $572,794 to help meet their operational expenses this financial year. The Community Partnership Funding Program helps community groups to deliver key services and facilities to the Sunshine Coast community. Congratulations to Currimundi’s Sunshine Coast Churches Soccer Association on their funding.
Community groups across the Coast will also benefit from the Environment Levy Partnerships Program – 24 groups shared in over half a million dollars, including Division 3’s Surfrider Foundation and Currimundi Catchment Care Group.

Help reach 5000 poppies
Next year marks 100 years since Australian troops landed at Gallipoli and as part of the commemorations, council is inviting you to contribute to the 5000 Poppy Project. Head to Coolum Library on Thursday September 18 and learn how to make a crocheted poppy. The poppies will be displayed at Sunshine Coast libraries on Remembrance Day this year and then sent to Melbourne for the 2015 Anzac Day celebrations.
