NBN Co have publicly announced the next three year rollout of the Fibre optic cable build, which now includes a speed up of connections to a number of Sunshine Coast areas between 2014 – 2016.

This multi-million dollar investment from NBN Co into the Sunshine Coast region will deliver broadband into homes and businesses in the following areas within the next three years:

Burnside, Coes Creek, Highworth, Image Flat, Nambour, Parklands, Rosemount, Towen Mountain, West Woombye, Woombye, Mapleton, Alexandra Headland, Birtinya, Bokarina, Buddina, Currimundi, Kawana , Meridan Plains, Minyama, Mooloolaba, Mountain Creek, Parrearra, Warana, Wurtulla.

Three years Aroona, Battery Hill, Bells Creek, Caloundra, Caloundra West, Currimundi, Dicky Beach, Golden Beach, Kings Beach, Little Mountain, Meridan Plains, Moffat Beach, Pelican Waters, Shelly Beach, Coolum Beach, Marcoola, Mount Coolum, Peregian Beach, Peregian Springs, Point Arkwright, Yandina Creek, Yaroomba, Twin Waters, Pacific Paradise, Kuluin, Bli Bli, Didillibah, Rosemount, Maroochy River, Mudjimba, Kiels Mountain, Maroochydore, Marcus Beach, Peregian Beach, Peregian Springs, Maleny, Landsborough, Beerburrum, Beerwah, Glass House Mountains, Peachester, Castaways Beach, Cooroibah, Doonan, Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunrise Beach, Sunshine Beach, Tewantin, Tinbeerwah, Weyba Downs.

It is expected that by 2021 all remaining areas will have been completed.

The majority of the fibre build will be located in road reserves or council owned land. All residents will be fully informed before any building commences in their neighbourhood.
