Council is seeking the community's assistance to send a message to our Prime Minister and the Federal Government about getting a medical school for the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The Queensland Government is investing in a new public tertiary teaching hospital on the Sunshine Coast to meet growing demand for hospital services as well as offer further opportunity to train local residents to be the health workforce of the future.
The Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) will complement the new Oceanside Kawana Health Precinct that will transform the health industry on the Sunshine Coast and create thousands of local jobs.
The 20-hectare site on Kawana Way at Birtinya is being transformed into the Sunshine Coast Health Campus with the SCUH at its centre.
The project will boost the local economy by creating jobs during and after construction, and will be the catalyst for local commercial and residential development in the surrounding area.
For detailed information about the new hospital, visit Queensland Health's SCUH website.
