Pest Plants and Animals Field Day

The field day held 16 April 2016 at Conondale Memorial Sports and Recreation Reserve ran from 9 am to 3 pm with experts from council, state government and the private sector assisting with weed identification, management and control equipment, feral animal control, and the new Biosecurity Act.

Staff from council’s Vector and Pest Plant Education and Control Team and the Feral Animal Education and Control Team were on site to answer questions and provide advice on a range of topics including:

  • Identification and management options for weedy Sporobolus grass
  • General declared weed identification and management
  • Wild dog ecology and control
  • Feral animal control – plus equipment demonstration and information
  • New Biosecurity Act information for all landholders
