scene has held a number of useful workshops throughout 2014 and 2015 for people who are new to the events industry, are looking to run a new event or would like to further develop existing events or skill sets.

Marketing, Media and Evaluation Workshop
Helen Perry from Fresh PR and Marketing, Leigh Robshaw from My Weekly Preview and David Gration from Event Tourism Associates certainly drew crowds at this workshop. The topics and information covered were useful, practical and engaging. The workshop was held at Maroochy River Golf Club on 5 October 2016.

Volunteers and Finance Workshop
Graeme Murphy from Volunteering Sunshine Coast and Steve Connelly from CPR Group presented an excellent workshop on recruiting volunteers and how to do event budgets. The workshop was held at TAFE QLD East Coast Mooloolaba Campus on 17 August 2016.
The highly anticipated sponsorship workshop was held on 15 June at Lake Kawana Community Community Centre. One of scene's most loved speakers David Gration spoke on seeking sponsorship and Hayley Saunders from Bendigo Bank spoke on the sponsor's perspective.

Event Management Workshop
The first scene workshop for 2016 was held on 13 April at the Maroochy Arts & Ecology Centre. There were two expert speakers with Krista Hauritz presenting on business plans and Vickii Cotter giving her tips and tricks on event delivery and logsitics.

The final workshop of the year was held at TAFE Qld East Coast on 14 October. Andrew Murray spoke on risk and safety, an important element of every event. Finishing off the day, Robyn Lange Cork spoke on the language of success.

Leveraging your event
The amazing array of presenters at this workshop certainly brought a crowd at Lake Kawana Community Centre on 12 August. We had Rosanna Natoli present on what journalists want, Richard O'Leary on how to write a media release, Julie Cullen on leveraging with the RTO and Caroline Campbell on sponsorship success.

The first workshop for 2015 was the event funding workshop and was held at the University of the Sunshine Coast on 24 June. Leonie Murray presented on the Seven Pillars of Funding and was extremely well received. The Seven Pillars include: grants, donations, memberships, crowdfunding, events, sales and sponsorship.
