Lost and Found Animals
  • Last updated:
  • 13 Feb 2017

If a roaming pet dog or cat is impounded, council will try to identify and return the pet to its registered home. The pet will be taken to council’s pound if:

  • no one is home
  • the pet is not registered
  • an owner has not been identified.

Animal cages

You can borrow a cage from council if you wish to impound cats that are roaming onto your property. There is no fee to use the cage.

For more information on this service please contact council's customer service centre.

Lost animals

Council publishes a list of lost animals impounded at the Tanawha pound that is updated regularly. Contact the Tanawha pound for more information or if you have an enquiry about impounded livestock.
