Substituted Service – Notice of Intention to Sell
The provisions within the Local Government Regulation 2012 empower council to sell land where rates and charges have been overdue for at least, generally, 3 years.
Section 239 (2)(3) of the Local Government Act 2009 provides that local government may serve a document by publishing a notice that contains a summary of the document in the newspaper circulating generally throughout the State, the gazette and by publishing the notice on the local government website.
This Notice of Intention to Sell is published in accordance with Section 239 of the Local Government Act 2009.
