  • Friday 12 June 2015

The Mary Grigor Centre, funded by Council’s Heritage Levy and officially opened on June 3, is named after renowned local woman Mary Grigor who lived in Bankfoot House in the 1800s.

The Centre provides archival storage for the paper and textile collections from the house, work space for the Friends of Bankfoot House, and visitor and interpretive space for the general community.

The community is invited to utilise this unique facility which offers spaces for events and community meetings with the verandah space presenting a fresh perspective on and appreciation of this historic site.  For more information on the Mary Grigor Centre, visit Council’s website or to make a booking email
