Coastal Pathway Master Plan

The Draft Coastal Pathway Master Plan is now available for you to view and provide feedback. Council aims to provide a continuous shared pathway spanning 73km of our coastline and while there are many pathways already in place, this master plan will help guide the route and fill in the gaps where pathways need to be upgraded or constructed. I encourage all Division One residents to visit council's website to view the draft master plan and complete the online survey before December 23. The plans are also available to view in council’s libraries.

High marks earned in waterways report card

A massive thank you to the community for helping us achieve high marks in the latest Healthy Waterways and Catchments Report Card. The report card on the health of our represented waterways – Maroochy River, Mooloolah River, Pumicestone Passage and Stanley River – is very important for guiding and assessing the effectiveness of our actions to preserve them. Despite our positive grades this year we’re cognisant of upcoming challenges from climate change and population and economic growth, and our aim remains focused on continued maintenance and improvement of our waterways over time.

Season’s greetings

In what has been a busy and productive year, I do hope that you are able to take some time out to unwind, reflect and relax with those close to you.  I would like to wish all readers a very Merry Christmas and a safe, creative and prosperous new year – I look forward to working with you again in 2017.
