Development Hot Spots
Did you know Maroochydore, Mooloolaba and Kawana are ‘hot’ areas of growth? Sunshine Coast development activity certainly shows no signs of slowing down, according to council’s annual building approvals heat map. The updated heat maps reflect the volume of building activity between 2012 and 2016, visit council’s website to learn more.
Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project
Public consultation has commenced on the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Project. Building Queensland is finalising the development of a business case in partnership with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Community information sessions are being held to discuss the project, ask questions and provide feedback at the following locations:
Saturday, 15 October, 10am-12.30pm and Tuesday, 18 October, 5.30pm-8pm at the Landsborough Sports Complex, 15 Tunnel Ridge Road, Landsborough. Wednesday, 19 October, 5.30pm-8pm Glass House Mountains Community Hall, 8 Coonowrin Road, Glass House Mountains. Feedback closes Monday 31 October 2016. Your Transport Levy funds in action!
Are you 60-and-over, have a disability or mobility impairment? You could access council’s Council Link transport service. ComLink, funded through the Transport Levy, collects eligible residents from their home and drives them to their local transport hub/ shopping/civic centre and return. To arrange the service, phone 5390 1288 by noon the day before your planned trip. For eligibility criteria, the schedule and suburbs, visit www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au and search for “council link”.
