Cr Baberowski - Development hot spots
  • Friday 09 October 2015

Did you know the Birtinya/Kawana area recorded the highest number of building approvals between 2012 and 2015? Council has released a ‘heat’ map that shows high levels of building approvals across the ‘Sunshine Coast Enterprise Corridor’ that stretches from Sunshine Coast Airport to Caloundra South.

Council expects this corridor to accommodate around 70 per cent of the region’s population growth as well as substantial business investment over the next 20 years.

Developments that have made this area a ‘hot spot’ include a major electrical substation, Pulse medical building, Best Western Motel and a multi-storey car park. Nearby Meridan Plains will soon see a new shopping centre and an aged care facility. It is an exciting time for local residents and those in surrounding areas. Visit council’s website to see the Development Heat Map and learn more about what is happening on the Sunshine Coast.
