Have your say to help manage the future of parking
This week, the draft framework to proactively manage car parking across the whole of the Sunshine Coast was unveiled and residents are encouraged to have their say. The growth from 1m to 1.6m trips a day is coming and the comprehensive draft Parking Management Plan is an important way to identify and get ahead of the pressure points. This smart parking plan applies common sense solutions and harnesses technology as a means to manage greater demand while providing real benefits to drivers, the community, business and visitors. You can view all the draft plans on the project website ‘Have Your Say Sunshine Coast’, in our libraries or come along to a local information session. I encourage you to take a closer look at the draft local plans for our towns and to provide feedback by May 5.
Minor Grant applications are now open
Does your groups event need support or does it need new musical or educational equipment, do the grounds, fences or kitchen facilities need upgrading? Minor Grants provide support to local not-for-profit community organisations for one-off projects, events and activities that benefit the community, with amounts of up to $2,000 available. Be sure to take advantage of these grants and submit an application before May 8, more details are on council’s website.
Sports field funding
Applications are now open for council’s Sports Field Maintenance Funding Program, which helps eligible sporting groups keep their sports fields in tip-top shape. Applications close May 8.
