Bridge replacement work starts today to replace the Hodgens Road Bridge in Bald Knob that can no longer be economically maintained to the standard required. The new single lane bridge will be widened to 4.8m, which includes 0.7m wide shoulders and 1m high steel post and beam guardrails on each side. The new bridge will also have a deck level approximately 0.5m higher than the existing bridge to help prevent flooding during major storm events. Your patience during construction is appreciated.

Caloundra South development

The recent launch of the Caloundra South development is exciting news for hinterland communities as well as Caloundra residents. Hinterland residents will have easy access to the city and all the facilities that business investment brings. It will also create more work opportunities. The Infrastructure Agreement is also a major win for our community, and will see well-sequenced infrastructure delivered in pace with the development. Council’s main objective has been to ensure the project went ahead and we captured all the benefits it will bring to the region - without any residual costs for ratepayers beyond those that would normally be the responsibility of Council.
