The Kawana Forest Residents Association (KaFRA) play a vital role for all Kawana Forest residents and property owners. The association shares a common goal to ensure the preservation of the magnificent Kawana Forest and provides a voice for all current and future residents. Last month I had the honour of Chairing the KaFRA AGM and participated in the election of the new committee members. I would like to sincerely thank the previous KaFRA committee members for their efforts throughout the past year. The next KaFRA meeting will be held 5:30pm on Monday 5th September at the Kawana Forest Meeting Place. I would like to encourage any interested residents to attend.
50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast
The 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast will be officially commemorated on 1 August 2017. Council is planning a number of celebrations throughout 2017 to mark this historic occasion. Photography enthusiasts are invited to dig out their photo albums and cardboard boxes in search of their favourite 1960s and 1970s photo of the Sunshine Coast for the chance to be featured in the Still Shining – Celebrating 50 Years 2017 heritage calendar. Applications opened on Monday 1 August and I encourage all Kawana residents to send in their treasured photos of our beautiful region.
