The Kawana Forest Meeting Place is already the place to go for a number of functions – but remember it’s available for all ages and abilities to book your event or meeting.
Some of the events going on at the centre include:
LIVE Church on the first three Sundays of each month, from 9.30 to 11.30am. LIVE is multi-generational, and a Baptist Church.
The Sunshine Coast Literary Association is holding a workshop – Pitch Perfect: Pitching to Publishers – on Saturday July 26 at 1pm, for all you budding authors in the forest!
The Cherubs Community Playgroup meets every Thursday morning from 9am to noon, which is always popular.
The next Kawana Forest Residents Association Meeting is being held on the evening of Tuesday, August 5.
These are just some of the events going on at YOUR meeting place. Make sure you make the most of your local centre. You can book on 5443 7281 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Community Groups Matter – KaFRA (Kawana Forest Residents Association)
I am glad to hear some of the organisers of KaFRA enjoyed their recent holiday and are back on board refreshed and ready to go! I am looking forward to taking up an offer to be a guest speaker at a future meeting to talk about the budget. I would also like to bring residents up to speed on the important Palmview development site.
I understand KaFRA is planning a Weedbusters and Clean-Up day in August. Given the proximity and natural values of the Kawana Forest community, this is a great community initiative and council looks forward to working collaboratively with you on this project as we have with some other similar communities.
Residents’ groups underpin the fabric of real communities and are an essential component of developing a sense of place and community; it’s inspiring to see KaFra continuing to do such a good job. If you have some spare time, please consider contacting them and getting involved.
