KaFRA Christmas Party
I was privileged to attend the recent Kawana Forest Residents’ Association annual Christmas festivities. The Meeting Place was packed with residents, business owners and families enjoying a fantastic afternoon of BBQ food, music, raffles and lucky door prizes and, most of all, fantastic Christmas cheer. The achievements of this community group are to be celebrated; they are now producing a regular newsletter and have a great website with upcoming events and activities as well as news and information relevant to the local community.
New commercial precinct
Development of Kawana Forest estate’s new commercial precinct has really progressed over the past few months. In my view, the development has exceptional commercial spaces, engaging landscaping and an attractive design that offers a good range of indoor and outdoor areas. I’m sure that, like me, residents are looking forward to having tenants in place and the centre becoming a vibrant community hub for residents of Kawana Forest and surrounds.
Meeting place coordinator appointed
I welcome the recent appointment of a local coordinator for the Kawana Forest Meeting Place. The coordinator will work with volunteers to develop a dynamic range of events and activities for the local community. This appointment is great news for a facility that is bursting with potential and I look forward to seeing it continue to flourish in 2015. Visit www.kafra.org.au to learn more about upcoming events and activities at the Meeting Place.
I wish you and your families a safe, happy and healthy Christmas and a creative, relaxing holiday season.
