Lilly Court Park shelter upgrade
I am very pleased with the upgrades made to the Lilly Court Park entry statement shelter at Kawana Forest, the refurbishment of the park shelter included RiTekroofing. I trust that means the shelters can function for years to come and residents and their visitors can enjoy the refurbished shelters during your next visit to Kawana Forest.
Cheaper public transport fares
Although we’re not there yet on frequency and convenience of services, great news – Translink have introduced 3 new zones which should mean reduced fares for many, so why not give public transport a go? In addition to the new zones and cheaper fares, seniors travel free after two journeys each day and children aged 5-14 travel free on weekends when using a child go card.
Apply now for grants
Council is now accepting applications for several of our grants programs. The latest round of council’s major community grants, which offers project funding from $2000 to $30,000, and the Environment Levy grants both close March 13. Not-for-profit community based organisations can apply for Environment Levy grants up to $5000 to fund projects that make a positive and ongoing contribution to the region’s biodiversity and waterways.
