National Walk Safely to School Day 2018
I was delighted to see so many schools participating in the National Walk Safely to School Day this year. The event held on May 18, attracted more than 1,800 students, a 16% increase compared to last year. The region is growing, and we all know that significant changes in transport need to be achieved if we want to maintain our range of lifestyles. This year’s participation data shows that more than half of students who lived within two kilometres from their school are normally driven to school by their parents, so it is good to see families willing to change their habits. Buddina State School has the highest participation rate and will be treated to a special performance of the Go Seek ‘Super Strong Bones’ show.
