Meeting Place coordinator appointed
I welcome the recent appointment of a local coordinator for the Kawana Forest Meeting Place. The coordinator will work with volunteers to develop a dynamic range of events and activities for the local community. This appointment is great news for a facility that is bursting with potential and I look forward to seeing it continue to flourish in 2015. Visit www.kafra.org.au to learn more about upcoming events and activities.
Community supports light rail investigation
I have enjoyed some great conversations about the light rail project during the consultation period for the light rail route options. I am really impressed with our community’s high level of interest and involvement, which resulted in more than 700 survey submissions. Council’s light rail project team will now review the feedback and develop shortlisted routes for more detailed feasibility studies to examine engineering, costs and timing. I encourage you to register to receive updates as the project progresses, go to www.lightrail.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.
Sunshine Coast Libraries come to you
If you are too busy to go to the library during the holidays, then let it come to you. Council libraries are always innovating to meet the needs of our communities and are working to ensure the library can fit your lifestyle. To learn more about the wide range of services on offer, take a look at a new video on the Sunshine Coast Libraries webpage, just search for ‘video’.
I wish everyone a safe, happy and healthy Christmas and a creative, relaxing holiday season.
