Playground Renewal - QCWA Park - Old Landsborough Rd, LandsboroughI am pleased to announce that the renewal of the playground equipment is now complete at QCWA Park. The new playground looks very much in character with the location and the new equipment will keep the youngsters entertained both physically and mentally. I would like to thank the users of the park for their patience during the replacement process and I hope the refreshed playground brings a lot of joy to the community.

Cycling WorkshopsDoes your child need a confidence boost on two wheels? Help put them on the right track with one of council’s free cycling workshops during the school holidays. The workshops are an enjoyable way for kids to gain valuable experience and extra confidence in bike handling skills, road safety awareness and pathway etiquette in a safe and fun group setting and get them on their bikes more often. For more dates and online registration, go to council’s website www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au and search “cycling workshops” to find the children’s intermediate cycling course.
Change to bin lid coloursPlease keep in mind that council is progressively changing over waste wheelie bin green lids with red lids to comply with the Australian Standard. This is a long term project with exchanges only being undertaken as maintenance issues occur with the existing lids: red – general waste, yellow – recycling, lime green – garden waste. Cross contamination between bins is a real issue and this slow replacement process eventually means our general waste bins will be consistent with other parts of the country, making them easier to identify and use more appropriately.

It’s a great opportunity to develop an idea and get a group together to celebrate our 50th anniversary year.
