Have you seen the new roofline lights at Kawana Forest Meeting Place yet? The low power LED Lights at this exceptional community facility have been installed and turned on in time for the festive season, but will be available to help animate and promote events throughout the year. Call 0428 776043 to book your next event.
The turtles are back!
What a seasonal gift it is that turtles return year after year to breed on the Sunshine Coast. The first turtle of the season has been seen at Point Cartwright and hopefully many more will be seen over the coming months. If you come across a nesting turtle please keep a reasonable distance as turtles are likely to return to the water if disturbed, call TurtleCare on 0437 559067 to let them know and for further advice.
Have your say on our trees
How do you feel about all things ‘trees’ and do you want to provide input on council’s draft Strategic Tree and Native Vegetation Management Policy and Tree Management Procedure? The plans are on council’s website and hard copies can be viewed at council's libraries and customer contact centres. Submissions can be provided via an online survey via council’s website, and close 5 pm on December 15, 2015.
In case I don’t get another chance, may I wish everyone in the local community a happy, creative and safe festive season. I look forward to another exciting and productive year in 2016.
