Festive season activities
It is always exciting to see the festive season banners go up along Main Street, and it is only a few short weeks until the Poinciana tree at the Old Post Office lights up as part of the region’s Christmas Tree Trail. I am also looking forward to attending the Buderim Community Carols on Friday 12 December from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Buderim Mountain School Oval—and I hope to see you there. Check the ‘what’s on’ section on council’s website for details about festive season events and activities across the Sunshine Coast.
Access council’s transport service for $2 each way
If you are 60-and-over and have a disability or mobility impairment you may be able to access Sunshine Coast Council’s Council Link transport service through ComLink. The service, funded through the Transport Levy, collects eligible residents from their home and drives them to their local shopping centre and return, for $2 each way.
For residents of Buderim, Forest Glen, Mons, Sippy Downs, Tanawha, Chevallum and Ilkley the service goes to Buderim Marketplace or Chancellor Park Marketplace on Tuesdays. To book your seat, phone 5390 1288 by noon the day before your planned trip. A detailed schedule and suburb list is available on council’s website, visit www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au and search for “council link”, or phone council on 5475 7272.
Arts grants open now
Just a reminder about the current round of Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grants that close at 5pm on December 1. This funding supports local artists through skills development. Visit council’s website to apply and contact a grants officer on 5475 7272 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
