Cr Connolly - Division 4 is a hub of activity
  • Thursday 22 June 2017
The Sunshine Coast is evolving and I’m pleased the community is embracing council’s vision for our region.

Division 4 is an incredibly important hub of activity on the Coast.

Maroochydore City Centre works are running smoothly.

I thank the community for their patience during road work in the area.

In order for us to build a strong economy, we must also ensure we have the infrastructure, such as these improved roads, required to sustain it.

Further south at Alexandra Headland, we have upgrades to the skate park and a new viewing deck coming soon.

The Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Kawana Shoppingworld developments are also bringing significant change and employment opportunities to the Coast.

Mooloolaba is also undergoing changes, as it will soon become an international tourist hub, with five-star hotels and easy access from the Sunshine Coast Airport.

I am really pleased and excited about everything happening around the Sunshine Coast.

These changes have been in the pipeline for quite some time, and it’s wonderful to watch everything start to take shape.

However, change takes time.

We have to take a staged approach in order to ensure as little disruption as possible.

I am confident the end result will be worth waiting for.

Council has a strong vision, we know where we want to be, and we’ve started working towards our goals.

We are building a stronger economy for the future and creating a region that is healthy, smart and creative.
