La Balsa Park Master Plan
Designs for stage 2 of the La Balsa Park improvements will soon be underway. Works include replacement of the wedding rotunda for which there will be community consultation for the design, a new seat near the central playground and line marking of the two existing car parks. This will complement the recently completed widening of the footpath, drainage upgrades and new landscaping. Some smart design work also resulted in an additional 8 new car parking bays.
IRONMAN 70.3 coming our way
Our fantastic beaches and sunny surrounds will be beamed around the world as over 3000 athletes representing 70 countries compete in the upcoming IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. This event is estimated to contribute $8million to the local Sunshine Coast economy. To learn more about this world-class event, go to www.ironman.com or phone the event hotline on 1300 761 384.
Meet our local beauties
In late winter and spring the Coast’s wildflowers are hard to miss. The Sunshine Coast Wildflower Festival from August 21 to September 3 is a great opportunity to get to know these local beauties a little better. The festival program, which includes 16 guided walks between Bribie Island and Noosa, is available on council’s website.
