Sunshine Coast Council, in conjunction with the Queensland Government Cycle Network Program, is constructing a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge across Mayes Canal at Mooloolaba. This new bridge represents another important link in our existing cycle and pathway network and will be a landmark entry statement to the Mooloolaba area. The bridge will provide a new level of safety and convenience for residents and visitors by removing pedestrians and recreational and commuter cyclists from the traffic bridge on Brisbane Road. The Mooloolaba to Minyama Separated Bikeway project is something our region can be proud of as we all work to encourage more active transport and a healthier and happier community. I thank residents for your patience and understanding during construction.
National Ride2School Day March 23
Pedal, scoot or skate to school on Friday, March 23 for National Ride to School Day 2018. Research suggests that students who travel actively to school arrive alert and ready to learn. Sunshine Coast Council encourages families to leave the car at home and get active this Ride to School Day and we’re offering great prizes as extra incentives. Register online via council's website today and please remember to take care on the roads, keep an eye out for kids and slow down in school zones.
Meet and Greet
Join me for my next Meet and Greet at Kawana Library on Monday, March 26 from 9.30-10.30am. Please come along if you have any local government issues you would like to discuss. I will continue these sessions at Kawana Library on the last Monday of every second month.
