Mooloolaba, voted 4th Best Beach in Australia
The people have spoken – according to Global travel website, TripAdvisor, travellers have voted Mooloolaba the 4th Best Beach in Australia. The award showcases beaches from across the country with Mooloolaba Beach being recognised for its fun, friendly atmosphere. Mooloolaba Beach is absolutely stunning and I’m so pleased it’s received this international recognition. Its picture perfect views are enjoyed all year round and are just another reason why we’re lucky to call the Sunshine Coast home.

Stormwater upgrades in Mooloolaba
A stormwater network upgrade in Lawrence Street and Ocean View Avenue, Mooloolaba is set to help alleviate local flooding in an area which can be susceptible during severe weather events. There will be fully-functioning underground stormwater networks and the aboveground water flow will be improved as a result too. Weather permitting, the upgrade is expected to be completed by May 2019. I’d like to thank the community for their patience during construction.

Clean Up Australia Day’s volunteer record
I’d like to thank everyone who came out for Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday March 3. Specific thanks to Mountain Creek State School who teamed up with council’s TurtleCare volunteers at Point Cartwright Beach and Ananda Marga River School who were down at Buddina Beach. There was a record number of participants, approximately 1630 registered volunteers, a 10% increase from last year’s numbers. The equivalent of 1143 bags of general rubbish and 60 bags of recyclables were collected. What a great result for the region!
