More seats means more views at Alexandra Headland
There will soon be a new viewing deck at Alexandra Headland, south of the surf club, near beach access 160. The new viewing area will be an extension to the existing promenade area and offer additional seating and views of Pt Cartwright and Mt Coolum. Council is developing a design for the viewing desk, which will conceal the existing stormwater outlet to increase the area’s visual appeal.

Have your say on the future of parking in your area
I encourage everyone to take a look at the draft Parking Management Plan and draft Local Area Parking Plans and provide feedback by May 5. Council is actively listening to community concerns about current parking management issues, which has led to the development of these draft plans. You can view the drafts on council’s website, at your local library, or at one of our community consultation sessions. Visit haveyoursay.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au to find a session that suits you.

Keep your sports field in tip-top shape

Applications are now open for council’s Sports Field Maintenance Funding Program, which helps eligible sporting groups with up to three years funding as a contribution towards the cost of sports field maintenance. Council also partners with successful applicants to ensure their sports fields are maintained to competition level by providing the services and advice of a council parks officer. Applications close Monday, May 8. Visit council’s website for more information and a copy of the guidelines.
