Call for conservation volunteers – Get involved
Division 3 is blessed to have some dedicated volunteers keeping an eye on our beautiful environment. Recent work included treating weed species and dune rehabilitation. If you enjoy the outdoors and would like to join in, our local groups are:
- Bokarina Bush Bushcare Group
Meet on the second Saturday of each month from 8 to 10am, followed by morning tea. They work in a few different areas of Bokarina including along Oceanic Drive from Beach Access 239 to 242. Activities include weeding and planting of native species.
- Beach, Bush and Birds Warana
Meet on the third Friday of each month from 8 to 10am, followed by morning tea. They work in different spots around the Warana. Activities include weeding and occasionally planting native species. They have done a lot of work at Beach Access 238 and also at beach accesses 232, 233, and 235.

I hope those of you lucky enough to have been on Spring holidays have enjoyed being out and about in our beautiful Sunshine Coast. Council’s holiday programs have been well attended yet again with families getting active and healthy in our great outdoors, kids brushing up on their cycling skills and being creative or inspired at workshops across the coast. Keep an eye out for more council activities by searching council’s ‘What’s On’ page.
