Coastal Pathway Master Plan

The Draft Coastal Pathway Master Plan is now available for you to view and provide feedback. Council aims to provide a continuous shared pathway spanning 73km of our coastline and while there are many pathways already in place, this master plan will help guide the route and fill in the gaps where pathways need to be upgraded or constructed. Visit council’s website to read the draft plan and have your say by December 23. Everyone who makes a submission will also enter a prize draw for vouchers to surf clubs, restaurants, sports stores and bike stores.

Grahame Stewart Park update

An upgrade to the junior playground at Grahame Stewart Park is almost complete and I expect it will be ready for the school holidays. There’s a whole lot of exciting new playground equipment that is sure to keep little ones entertained, and additional seating for parents too.

Staying hydrated at the sports complex

I recently allocated divisional funding to new water bubblers at the Meridan Sports Complex. The four bubbler station is now installed and ready to be used, in time for the hot weather. I’m sure you’ll all agree this is a terrific addition to the complex.

Christmas greetings

As this is my last column for the year, I’d just like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to working with you again in 2017.
