I am delighted to announce the latest stage of the coastal pathway in Bokarina, between Blue Haven Court (beach access 245) and Driftwood Court (beach access 242), is nearing completion. The pathway is 3m wide and caters for both pedestrians and cyclist. As part of this project, council has also removed invasive weed species like the Broadleaf Pepper Tree and replaced them with natives to help regenerate the dunes. Additionally there's some cleared land near Driftwood Court, which is earmarked for an upcoming community planting project – if you would like to get involved, contact council’s customer service centre on 5475 7272.
Sunshine Coast Stadium
Council is finalising the design for a new spectator viewing area around the main field at Sunshine Coast Stadium. The project enables us to cater for larger audiences and make better use of field lighting. This upgrade will provide more opportunities for the Sunshine Coast to secure and host larger events.
A sustainable business advantage
Achieving better environmental performance and reduced running costs - are just some of the benefits that businesses can experience by implementing Cleantech solutions. Council’s Cleantech Effect 2016 on July 29 at Lake Kawana Community Centre will showcase leading industry experts to help local businesses find cost-effective and innovative cleantech solutions at this annual conference, business showcase and networking event.
