The 25m pool at the Kawana Aquatic Centre is undergoing planned refurbishment works as part of Council’s ongoing commitment to providing quality community recreation venues. Subject to weather, it is anticipated the 25m pool will be closed for nine weeks from Thursday, April 26. The refurbishment works will include the repainting of the pool shell and starting block replacement. Please note the centre will remain open during this time for swimming lessons and general access to the remainder of the complex.
Storytelling brought to life at Grahame Stewart Park
I had a great time officially unveiling the Currimundi Story seat recently. The occasion brought back some fond memories for me, as a dad, as I read Where is the Green Sheep? to my sons when they were younger so I am especially pleased this story seat lives in Division 3. The story seats are a part of the First 5 Forever early childhood literacy program. Families with children under five are invited to come to Grahame Stewart Park and explore the magic of storytelling at the purpose-built story seat.
Community Update Newsletter
My Living in Division 3 Autumn/Winter 2018 edition has hit letterboxes and is also now featured on council’s website. The newsletter aims to provide residents with a snapshot of what’s happening in our community. In this issue you’ll find updates on new projects like Parklands Boulevard, Currimundi Lake and the Meridan Sports Complex. I’ve also included a handy list of upcoming local events to add to your calendars. To find out what’s in store for Division 3, go to council’s website and search ‘Councillor Newsletters’.
