Lake Kawana projects
Construction on the new rowing pontoon at Lake Kawana is now complete and it’s already being well used by our community. This pontoon will be used for a range of other lake activities and community events, in addition to rowing. A new double-size shelter over the timber deck behind the Green Beginnings childcare centre on Sportsman Parade will also be completed by the end of May, adding to the full complement of recreational facilities this area offers.
In other news for the Kawana Sports Precinct, construction is underway on a new façade for Sunshine Coast Stadium. The artist impressions look great and once completed, I think it will makes an impressive entry statement for our region’s premier sporting stadium.
Crummunda Park playground
The playground at Crummunda Park was opened in time for the Easter long weekend and plenty of families have been making the most of the upgrades in recent weeks. The playground now has a three bay swing and sandstone feature walls. Along with the new adjacent exercise equipment, these improvements have given the park a fresh new look and made it an even better place for residents to have fun and workout.
