Extra Lifeguard Services for Sunshine Coast Beaches
More lifeguards are to patrol our region’s most popular beaches during busy holiday periods, funded by Sunshine Coast Council. Bolstered services at Mooloolaba and Currimundi beaches will commence in 2018/19 financial year plus a planned future service inclusion in Bokarina Beach.
Kawana Aquatic Centre gets an upgrade
The upgrade to the 25m pool filtration system at Kawana Aquatic Centre is now complete, resulting in improvements in both the water quality and clarity! In addition, we’re planning on painting the interior surface during the winter off-season.
National Ride2School Day 23 March
Sunshine Coast Council expects around 350 children in our region will ride to school for the first time this Ride2School Day, and hopefully start a life-long pattern of active travel. To encourage kids to get on their bikes this Ride2School Day, council is offering great prizes including bike vouchers valued at $500, $200 and $100. Register on council’s website and ride to school for your chance to win! Buddy up with the kids in your street and ride to school together, or park the car a short distance away and ride from there. Please take care on the roads, keep an eye out for kids and slow down in school zones.
