Community landscaping initiative
Karawatha Drive is looking great following additional landscape works on the centre median opposite the Hibiscus Retirement Resort. Championed by the local community, and with their ideas incorporated into the landscape design, the project has resulted in an attractive and welcoming entrance to the retirement village.
Buderim Village Park lights up
The Buderim Village Park is now safer and even more accessible for the community thanks to the recent installation of lighting to the upper promenade path and construction of pathways. The State Government has provided considerable support for this project, contributing $100,000 towards the $165,000 stage 4 works via a Local Government Subsidy Infrastructure Grant.
Junior cricket oval refurbishment
Just in time for the summer season, works at the Buderim Cricket Oval are well underway with the recently installed irrigation system being put to use as 15000m2 of Wintergreen Couch Turf is placed on the surface of the oval and the outer areas. The coming weeks will see establishment of the turf and preparation of the wicket area.
I really enjoy this time of year as I love to see Buderim bustling with activity. I’m not sure if it is the festive displays and decorations or just the general vibrancy and positive mood of our residents that give this time of year a special buzz, but you know it really is a special time when our magnificent Poinciana trees bloom in celebration too!
My very best wishes for a happy, safe and relaxing Christmas and a New Year full of promise.
