Council grants more than $595,000 to local community groups
Community groups across the region are receiving a welcome financial boost, with more than $595,000 in grants endorsed at last month’s council meeting. Council is committed to supporting a range of important community initiatives and the successful funding recipients are certainly making a difference and contributing to our thriving local community. Community groups set to benefit in Division 6 include Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball, Chancellor State College P&C Association, Buderim Cricket Club, Ballinger Park Tennis Club, Fusion Sunshine Coast, Maroochydore Eagles Basketball Association and Buderim Wanderers Football Club. In this round of grant funding, I have seen a lot of important community projects and I would like to offer my congratulations to each of the successful recipients. Applications for the next round of major grants in council’s Community Grants Program will open on July 23 and close September 3, 2018. For more information on the range of grants available, visit council’s website or to discuss your project, contact a Grants Officer on 5420 8616.
Council will continue to recycle
A quick reminder that council will continue to provide its kerbside recycling service to meet our environmental and community objectives. Let’s continue to maintain our wonderful work to reduce waste to landfill by continuing to use the recycling bins.
