Cr Dickson - Mooloolaba Master Plan endorsed
  • Thursday 14 January 2016

Council’s endorsement of the Place Making Mooloolaba Master Plan at the December meeting was a significant step for the future of Mooloolaba. The plan will guide development over the coming twenty years, to ensure the area continues to be user-friendly and to create more public space. Key deliverables will include more than 2 kilometres of coastal pathways, 1,000 extra parking spaces, and a water park. Formation of the plan was guided by community input received during the consultation period. Thank you to the community members that provided us with feedback.

What’s happening in 2016

I’m looking forward to a busy 2016 and welcome the opportunity to hear your thoughts, visions and ideas for our local community.  I will be at the Old Post Office in Buderim on Friday 15 January from 10.00am to 12.00pm where I look forward to catching up with local residents and business people across division six to discuss issues of importance to you. For those who can’t attend in person, I invite you to engage on topics of interest through my Facebook page—just search for Cr Christian Dickson.

Roadside vegetation maintenance to continue

Council’s memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Transport and Main Roads, regarding roadside vegetation maintenance, has been extended. As a result, council will maintain certain sections of state government roads, and will receive some funding to meet this cost. The Dixon and Claymore Road interchange is one of several sections of road that will benefit across the region.
