Cr Dickson - Stringybark Road pedestrian safety improvements
  • Thursday 10 December 2015

Are you one of the many pedestrians who uses the Stringybark Road overpass to cross the Sunshine Coast Motorway? In order to improve safety for pedestrians using the overpass, we may have an opportunity to widen the footpaths and improve lighting in the area. Council officers are working on potential designs. This is a project that has my full support. I look forward to seeing the results and, hopefully, we can get this project started soon.

Have your say on Sunshine Coast trees

Are our local trees important to you? If so, you may wish to provide input on council’s draft Strategic Tree and Native Vegetation Management Policy and Tree Management Procedure. The policy outlines council’s role in the management of trees and native vegetation on council-controlled land, with the intention of managing them in a sustainable manner. The draft plans are on council’s website and available to view at council's libraries and customer contact centres. Individuals providing input will also be entered into the draw to win two nights stay at Treehouses Montville. Submissions can be provided on an online survey via council’s website, and close at 5pm next Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

Season’s greetings

As we approach Christmas and the end of the year, I’d like to wish everyone in the local community a safe and Happy Christmas and New Year. Hopefully it will involve time enjoyed with friends and family. I look forward to 2016, and am confident it will be another exciting and productive year.
