With several significant developments taking place at the moment, I am really looking forward to hearing what our leaders of the future have to say at the Sunshine Coast Futures Conference on November 27. With input from Australian and international experts in the regional development field, direct input from youth, and an interactive workshop format to create actionable plans for the future, the conference promises to be a hive of innovation and to ensure our region takes actions that lead us to the future we want to look forward to.
Glenfields exercise equipment
Mountain Creek residents will soon have a new spot for a scenic workout, when the installation of new exercise equipment at Parklea Esplanade Park is complete. Equipment will include bench, leg and butterfly presses, sit up board, leg dip and pull up bars. System resistance will allow users to work within their own capacity, while maximising their experience. The new gear should be ready to use in the coming months.
Brightwater boat ramp
Stockland and Council are making progress on the design of a new public boat ramp and basketball court in Brightwater. The ramp will allow regular access to the lake for water activities, and will also assist council with access for any maintenance required such as rubbish removal, spill management and infrastructure inspections. The design aims to provide both car and trailer parking, and will also have a turnaround facility. Construction will begin soon and, once complete, the boat ramp and basketball court will be excellent facilities that will help the community make the most of their surroundings.
