Have your say about plans for Dicky Beach
Following partial removal of the wreck in July 2015, a draft plan for the Dicky Beach precinct has been developed to help ensure the identity of the area lives on. Incorporating community feedback, council has developed a draft plan for further comment. The draft precinct plan shows future improvements and identifies interpretive elements that remember the SS Dicky wreck. View the draft plan on council’s website and be sure to provide comment by 17 August.
Caloundra Headland upgrades
Improvements at Caloundra headland are almost complete with new sandstone retaining and seating walls, landscaping, extra lighting as well as new park furniture adding to the amenity of this beautiful location. Installation of new stairs will also further increase accessibility. I look forward to seeing these great additions to the headland especially as they will be complemented by the new Mets Surf Club deck that will showcase the wonderful view across Kings Beach.
Moffat Beach playground upgrade
The beloved playground at Moffat Beach will be renewed later this year to ensure it remains a safe place for kids to play. Unfortunately, the footings on the old playground have deteriorated and parts of the timber structure are continually needing attention. Council has received considerable feedback from the community and your suggestions are being incorporated into concept plans for a new playground. I will provide an update when the next round of plans are ready for viewing.
