Smart Centre showcases our living lab

Did you know that Caloundra is home to the ‘Smart City Living Lab’, the testing ground for smart technologies before installation across the region?  If you’d like to learn more about what is being trialled—such as parking apps, free high speed public WiFi, real time transport information, bin sensors to improve collection services, environmental sensors to test air and water quality, smart lighting systems and more—then drop by Council’s Smart Centre at 63 Bulcock Street.

Caloundra Film Festival

Don’t miss this 4th annual celebration of film culture. Launching on September 2 with the screening of Thicker than Water, festival events continue at venues across the city until October 5. Activities also include the Student Showcase highlighting the talents of local media students, Coast Modern depicting the beauty of coastal architecture through the generations, a features day, pop-up cinema as well as film documentaries. View the program at www.caloundrafilmfestival.com. This year the festival is running in partnership with Horizon Arts Festival.

Dicky Beach precinct

Thank you for your comments on the draft precinct plan for Dicky Beach. The draft highlighted future improvements and identified interpretive elements that remember the SS Dicky wreck.  Your feedback is being reviewed for incorporation into a final plan to be considered by council in the coming months.

Please call Customer Service on 5475 7272 if you see anything needing the attention of council. You can also follow my Facebook page at Cr Tim Dwyer - Division 2 for updates on what is happening in Caloundra.
