You may have noticed that construction is underway on the latest stage of Buderim Village Park which will enable even more opportunities for the community to enjoy their 3.4 hectare park and all its landscaped gardens, lush village green and stunning views of the Glasshouse Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
Due for completion next month, new features include two BBQ shelters, viewing terraces with seating areas, lighting and custom-designed furniture which celebrates Buderim’s heritage by displaying bottles from the early 1900s which were found on the site.
Jane McGrath Rose a new addition to Buderim park
Over at Buderim Lions Park it was an absolute honour to recently join the Mayor in planting a Jane McGrath Rose to highlight council’s support for the McGrath Foundation and co-founder Jane McGrath who would have celebrated her 50th birthday this month.
It’s important we continue to support the McGrath foundation and remember Jane’s contribution to helping thousands of Australian women, including here on the Sunshine Coast.
We planted the rose bush in a prominent position near the entrance to the park and hope it will thrive to become a popular permanent reminder of Jane’s courage and vision.
Maroochy River Foreshore shines
Next time you venture over to enjoy the spectacular views along Bradman Avenue’s Maroochy River Foreshore, you’ll see improvements are underway to Cod Hole Park as part of the foreshore masterplan. Scheduled for completion before the June / July holidays, look out for a new shelter, park furniture, BBQ and more trees.
