Cr Hungerford - Buderim knows how to party
  • Thursday 16 August 2018

How fantastic was the Buderim Street Party last Saturday night!

This annual family-friendly community event just gets bigger and better, with an estimated 10 thousand people coming together this year to enjoy an abundance of fabulous music, food and fun.

Great to see so many happy faces, young and old from near and far, and well done to the organisers.

Councillor catch up
Interested in hearing further information about local projects and developments or have some views to share? Maybe just want an opportunity to come and meet the local person who represents your Division 7?

Then pop over to see me at the Old Buderim Post Office, Burnett Street on the fourth Friday of every month from 10am – midday. The next catch up is August 24. Hope to see you there!

Choose to reuse by simple swap
Millions of single-use items such as coffee cups, plastic straws, shopping bags and plastic bottles end up in landfill and waterways throughout the Sunshine Coast every day. Many of these items are used for only seconds before being discarded.

Do your bit by signing up to #BYOSunshineCoast on council’s website and pledging to swap a single-use item for a reusable alternative for a day, a week, a month or forever.

With so many unique and fun keep-cups, water bottles and shopping bags to choose from, this is also your chance to show your personal #BYOSunshineCoast style. Plus you’ll go in the draw to win a plastic-free kit valued at $70.

Grants now open

Council values our community groups and the amazing work they do to make the Sunshine Coast a great place to live, work and play.

The next round of council’s Major Grants, Minor Grants (Event category only) and Environment Levy Grants are open now and close on September 3.

For more information visit council’s website or contact a grants officer on 5420 8616 to discuss your project.
