Cr Ted Hungerford - Supporting our local community
  • Wednesday 19 December 2018

It’s always wonderful to be able to give back and help support our local not-for-profit groups who contribute so much to our local communities. As such, I’m pleased to advise that council has just given the tick of approval for 113 community organisations to receive a total financial boost of more than $870,000 as part of the 2018 Community Partnership Funding Program.

A special congratulations to all of our local recipients including Maroochy Beach Gymnastics, Buderim Historical Society, Buderim Foundation Limited, Buderim Library Association Inc, Buderim Craft Cottage Association Inc and Diddillibah Community Hall & Progress Assn Inc.

Pick up your doggy’s do!

In recent times, I’ve received a number of complaints about owners not picking up after their dogs at Buderim Village Park. Owners are reminded they must always have a bag on hand, be responsible for their pet and be respectful to others. A $261 on-the-spot fine may be issued for failure to comply. This is a public park, a shared space, and such a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy and be proud of – let’s not go ruining a good thing!

Councillor catch up

Don’t forget that I am at the Old Buderim Post Office, Burnett Street on the fourth Friday of every month from 10am – midday to meet with local community members.

You may wish to ask me about local projects or developments on the cards or have some views you want to share? Maybe you just want to stop by and meet the local person who looks after Division 7?

The next catch up is November 23. Hope to see you there!
