Cr McKay - Eudlo Hall and Rec Grounds upgrade
  • Thursday 31 July 2014

I was pleased to help chip in some funding towards the repair and upgrade of the sewerage trenches at Eudlo Public Hall and Recreations Grounds at 19 Rosebed Street, Eudlo. This popular five acre sportsground and community hall, located in central Eudlo, is home to Eudlo Pony Club and regularly features musical concerts, creative dance classes, yoga and many other community get-togethers.

Huge range of programs and initiatives

As portfolio holder for Community Programs I am highly fortunate to work closely with Council’s various community venues and events staff on the multitude of wonderful programs, events and initiatives we hold for the community.

One area which always impresses me is our libraries. There are eight libraries throughout the region, plus mobile libraries, offering everything from your traditional hard copy books to digital, computer use, DVDs, free wifi, e-books and magazines.

There are also a huge variety of informative sessions held all the time including author talks, small business tips, health, finance, food, bikes, creative writing – the list goes on.

I particularly wish to bring attention to our library branches that are hosting a range of storytelling sessions during Children’s Book Week from 16 to 22 August.  I love to read, as do my beautiful grandchildren, and these sessions provide an exciting opportunity for children to connect to reading and enjoy the experience of exploring a story and taking a journey to other worlds.

For more information visit Council’s library website or call 1300 542 727.

Have your say

Council has just approved the draft Domestic Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Strategy 2014-2020 and you are invited to have your say.

The strategy will act as a tool for promoting and enhancing responsible pet ownership, while informing the community about Council’s role and future priorities in animal management.

Residents can provide input until 5pm 22 August via Council’s website, libraries or customer service centres or email feedback directly to
