Cr McKay - Exciting Woombye development
  • Friday 25 July 2014

I’ve mentioned previously that local Division 5 residents can look forward to investment in a number of upgrades, new facilities and other improvements over the next 12 months following the Capital Works Budget for 2014/15 being brought down last month.

One of the key projects the local Woombye community and surrounds will be pleased to know about is the $100,000 being spent on popular Victory Park Sport Complex on Laidlaw Rd, Woombye. Council will be designing a masterplan and staged implementation of improvements to better meet the needs and aspirations of the growing community.  I’ll keep you posted with further details as they come to hand.

Explore new cultural hub

Speaking of the arts, congratulations to those wonderful creative minds behind the real cultural shift taking place in Nambour. I highly encourage you to go for a walk around town and soak up the ambience as you re-explore the meandering laneways and side streets.

From Queen Street to Howard Street, there are a number of terrific little hidden gems in different forms including small galleries, funky cafes and one-off boutiques. And no need to feel guilty about the many great treasures you pick up on your journey – as you’ll be helping boost the local economy.
