Comment on the light rail route options

Our population is forecast to grow by 50 per cent in the next 20 years, and we need to be planning for that growth now to ensure we maintain the lifestyle we all love. Council is currently identifying how a light rail network could solve future connectivity and road congestion issues, and is asking for your opinion on possible route options. Route options are proposed for Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Caloundra and Kawana. Visit council’s website for all the details and to submit your feedback.

Arts grants open now

Did you know council supports local artists through skills development grants? The latest minor round of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is open now and closes at 5pm on December 1. Artists and arts workers can apply for up to $2000 in funding to help access professional development opportunities and further their career. The application process is easy – just visit council’s website to apply, and contact a grants officer on 5475 7272 or if you have any questions.

New! Lifetime registration option

As cat registration now falls under the local law, cat owners who have desexed and microchipped cats can choose lifetime registration, with around 100 responsible owners already taking up the option. Lifetime registration means you pay a one-off registration fee of $75 and no annual renewal fees for the life of your cat.  Switch to lifetime registration by contacting council online, via email or by phone.
