Ho, ho, ho! Where did the year go? This year the Coast lights up once again for dozens of Christmas events, from the ever-popular Christmas Carols and the Christmas Tree Trail, to the magical New Year’s Eve blast. Council has worked with community groups to deliver a number of wonderful Christmas events, which will be enjoyed be thousands of locals and visitors.
Speaking of visitors, there will no doubt be lots of them making the most of the Sunshine Coast, our brilliant summer weather and envied outdoor lifestyle. They come in droves for relaxing holidays and find themselves incidentally – or not – staying active as they explore the region and all it has to offer. And why not? So many locals are out and about showing them that the Coast is the perfect place to be outdoors and enjoy the daylight hours. There are more people on our walkways and beaches exercising in the mornings, more people in our cafes for brekky than dinner and a whole lot of people swimming, surfing, walking, running, climbing and hiking!
I hope you make the most of our alfresco lifestyle this summer – and I hope you enjoy the holiday season. On behalf of my wife Ingrid and I, and our girls Lily and Jay Jay, we wish you and your family and Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and fit 2015.
